For the prevention of corona virus in the country, the pace of vaccination campaign is being accelerated from today. On the very first day, the country has made a record of vaccinating. According to government data, so far more than 70 lakh doses of corona vaccine have been administered.
The central government is providing free vaccine to every citizen of the country from today. A few days ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced about this. The pace of vaccination has been accelerated from the day of International Yoga Day. The central government has decided to buy 75 percent of the vaccine production itself, while 25 percent of the vaccine will be procured by private hospitals.
The central government will now buy the vaccines and give it to the state government itself, whereas earlier the states were also asked to buy the vaccine. The vaccination campaign is going on very fast since this morning. For this reason, about 70 lakh vaccine doses have been administered till 5 pm.
Significantly, it has been more than a year since the corona epidemic came to the country. So far more than three and a half lakh people have died due to Kovid. The vaccination campaign was started in the country in January this year. In the initial period, after the health workers and then the frontline workers were vaccinated, the elderly started getting vaccinated. After this the number of people above 45 years of age came and during the second wave of corona, it was announced to vaccinate all people above 18 years of age. However, till now the state government had to vaccinate people in the age group of 18 to 44, which has been taken over by the Center from today.
