UP: 17-year-old girl was thrown down from two storeys for protesting molestation, two accused arrested

Mathura: Three youths threw a 17-year-old girl down from the second floor after she resisted molestation in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura town, breaking her spine. After the incident, the family members of the victim caught the two accused and handed them over to the police, while their third accomplice is absconding. The teenager is admitted to Goel Nursing Home in Kosikalan for treatment. The victim is yet to regain consciousness. Therefore, he is not in a position to make a statement.

The SSP said that two accused have been caught, the third absconding accused will also be caught soon. The victim will get full justice. According to the recorded report, on the day of the incident, the three youths who came on a bike directly entered the victim’s house and started molesting her. On resisting, they took the victim to the second floor and pushed her down.

Jitendra Kumar Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Umbrella area, quoted Dr. Aman Goyal, Orthopedic Surgeon of Goyal Nursing Home in Kosikalan on Thursday morning as saying that
The victim has suffered a head injury along with a broken spinal cord, but she is out of danger and her condition is improving. He said, although the victim is not fully conscious yet. Therefore, he is not in a position to make a statement.

Based on the complaint of the victim’s father, the police have registered a case against the three accused Avneesh, Dileep and Kaushal under sections 307, 504 and 506 of the IPC and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The victim’s father has accused Umbrella Kotwal Ravi Tyagi of negligence. He said that after the video of the incident went viral on Wednesday, the police registered a case in this regard. According to the relatives, Senior Superintendent of Police Dr. Gaurav Grover, SP Rural Shrish Chandra and other officials reached the spot, who were apprised of the incident.

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday targeted the BJP government in the state, saying that in this ‘jungle raj’, the safety of women is God’s trust. He tweeted, “Such crimes are happening against women in Uttar Pradesh that the soul trembles, but the government is sleeping.” Priyanka said, the goons who were harassing the girl for a year in Mathura entered the house and threw her from the terrace. Troubled by molestation in Hamirpur, the girl committed suicide.
