The central government has deducted the amount of DVC dues from the account of Jharkhand. On the orders of the Union Ministry of Power, RBI has deducted Rs 714 crore and sent it to the central account. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has objected to this. The party has accused the central government of discriminating against non-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments.
In the press conference on Tuesday, party spokesperson Vinod Pandey said that the Center is continuously adopting a dual character with non-BJP ruled states. Like last year, the Center has forcibly cut money for the second time this year.
The anger of the JMM leaders is erupting over this decision of the Centre. JMM says that Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has personally spoken to the central government on this issue. Despite this, the question arises about the attitude of the Center. Vinod Pandey said that the central government is showing wrong conduct with Jharkhand regarding the dues of DVC.
Relaxation to states like MP, Karnataka, UP!
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha said that even states like Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, UP have billions of rupees left, but while giving concession to them, a step-motherly attitude has been shown with Jharkhand. Due to such an action of the Center, there may be a challenge in releasing the salary to the government employees in this state, which is facing serious financial crisis.
Hemant Sarkar got empty treasury
The JMM spokesperson said that when Hemant Soren took over in 2019, he had found an empty treasury. In the midst of the Corona crisis, the government is trying to move forward with limited resources. Despite this, the attitude of the Center is irresponsible. The money of GST, central taxes is not being released to the state. The Center has not taken any concrete steps in this direction. Not giving response despite CM’s objection raises questions.
