Relief from Supreme Court, there is no ban on celebrating Bakrid in Kerala at present

Kerala has got relief from the Supreme Court. At present, the Supreme Court has not banned the celebration of Bakrid in Kerala, nor has it passed any order. The matter will be heard again tomorrow.

The Supreme Court has said that every state should be alert in view of the corona infection. But the court has not passed any order. Now markets will be open in Kerala today for Bakrid. In this case, the court has given a day’s time to the state government to file its reply today.

Let us inform that amidst increasing cases of corona in Kerala, the state government had relaxed the corona restrictions for 3 days to celebrate Bakrid. This period is from 18 to 20 July. Whereas on July 21, Bakrid will be celebrated in the state. This decision of the state government was challenged in the Supreme Court.

10 thousand cases daily in Kerala

The petitioner said that about 10 thousand cases are coming daily in Kerala. 59 cases are coming in UP. Therefore, the order of the Kerala government should be stayed. If notice is given by the court and reply is awaited, then this time will be over.

In response to this, ADG G Prakash, on behalf of the Government of Kerala, said that shops in Kerala were always open, and relaxation has been given in some areas as well. All the guidelines are being followed seriously in the state. He said that if we are the only state, then we are releasing the data of infection. He said that we want to file a detailed reply in this matter.

State government is playing with health – Petitioner

The petitioner said that it is very surprising that there is a medical emergency in the state and the state government is playing with the lives of the people. In this critical situation, the Kerala government is playing with the lives and health of the people.

The matter was heard in the bench of Justice RF Nariman in the Supreme Court. Justice Nariman said that the state government should file this reply today and the matter will be heard again tomorrow.

Justice Nariman said that the states need to be vigilant in the matter of corona infection so that the infection can be kept under control.
