The second phase of IPL 2021, postponed due to Corona, is starting from 19 September. Meanwhile, the team of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has taken a heart-touching decision. In honor of the Corona Warriors, the RCB team will take to the field wearing a blue jersey in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 20 September. This blue jersey matches the color of the PPE kit. This information has been given on the official Twitter account of RCB.
RCB tweeted, ‘We are honored to have the Blue Kit – which matches the color of the PPE Kit of the frontline warriors, to honor their invaluable service while leading the fight against the COVID pandemic.’

RCB also shared a video clip, in which the players are seen wearing blue jerseys. Also, in the video, team members are also seen expressing their views regarding this.
AB de Villiers said in this video, ‘For years you must have seen us wearing green jerseys for special work towards the environment. But this time we will wear a blue jersey, which matches the color of the PPE kit. The PPP kit was worn by the Corona Warriors during this entire disaster.
Team’s fast bowler Navdeep Saini said, ‘This year we will play against KKR on 20 September in a special blue jersey. It is dedicated to the frontline workers leading the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
It is worth noting that on May 2 this year, RCB captain Virat Kohli had talked about wearing a blue jersey in an IPL match in honor of Corona Warriors. But due to Corona, the IPL had to be postponed after two days. Now the franchise has kept its old promise.

In a video shared from the franchise’s Twitter account, Kohli had said, “RCB has identified critical areas in Bengaluru and other cities where oxygen-related health infrastructure needs immediate support.” RCB will play in a match wearing a special blue jersey.
