Problem with new tax filing website

The Income Tax Department launched the new income tax e-filing portal late on Monday night. It was claimed that the new website has been made better than before, but after a few hours there were complaints of errors in the new website. Regarding this, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman asked Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani to improve it. Infosys has been given the responsibility of designing and maintaining the new portal.

Nirmala wrote in her tweet that the department’s e-filing portal 2.0 was awaited for a long time. It was launched on Monday night at 10.45 pm. Many people are complaining about this. They are unable to open the site. Tagging Nandan Nilekani, he wrote that tax payers should not let the quality of service decrease. Our priority should be to make the process easier for taxpayers.

Mobile app will start from June 18
The new website has started from 7th June, but the tax payment system will be started after the advanced tax installment date on 18th June. Apart from this, the facility of mobile app being given for the first time will also be started from June 18. With this, taxpayers will be able to do tax related work on the app as well.

The new website is more user friendly. This will make it easier to file Income Tax Return (ITR) and get refund faster.
All transactions, uploads and pending actions are visible on a single dashboard so that users can review them and take action as needed. That is, it will be easy to file ITR, review it and take any action.
ITR preparation software is available free of cost for both online and offline situations. It also has the facility to assist taxpayers and also has the option of pre-filing, so that minimum data entry has to be done.
A new tax payment system has been introduced in the new portal, which will have multiple payment options like Net Banking, UPI, RTGS, NEFT etc.
A chatbot has been made available to answer the queries of the taxpayers.
The new e-filing link- www.incometax.gov.in has replaced the existing hyperlink “http://existing www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in”. The new portal works on instant processing of ITR so that the refund of taxpayers is generated faster.
