MP: 23 patients of black fungus have injection reaction, ban on use

The matter is of Bundelkhand Medical College located in Sagar district headquarters of Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh government sent 120 amphotericin B lipid complex injections to 37 patients of black fungus admitted in Sagar. After the injection, the health of 23 patients started deteriorating in which symptoms like mild fever, vomiting, shivering, incidence-increasing of BP were seen.

Patients of black fungus admitted to Sagar District Medical College in Madhya Pradesh started deteriorating after injection of amphotericin B lipid complex. After this the injection was stopped immediately and the reaction was controlled with other drugs. At present the condition of all the patients is stable.

Actually, this matter is of Bundelkhand Medical College located at Sagar district headquarters of Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday, the Madhya Pradesh government sent 120 amphotericin B lipid complex injections to 37 patients of black fungus admitted in Sagar. One patient was injected under the supervision of doctors and 25 patients were given this injection when no adverse reaction was found in it.

After the injection, the condition of 23 patients started deteriorating mildly, in which symptoms like mild fever, vomiting, shivering, increased incidence of BP were seen. Doctors immediately banned the use of injections and then the adverse reactions of injections were controlled with other medicines. Specialist doctors under the direction of Dean Dr RS Verma are keeping a watch on the health of all the patients.

Let us tell you, before this, on June 5, 27 patients had got to see the adverse reaction of the injection, after which the use of injection was banned.
