The T20 match between India and Sri Lanka (India vs Sri Lanka) can start at the scheduled time on Wednesday. This is because the Kovid report of all the players of both India and Sri Lanka team has come negative.
This T20 match was to be held on Tuesday, but a few hours before the toss, Team India’s Krunal Pandya was found corona infected, after which the match was postponed for a day.
The BCCI later informed that there were 8 players who came in direct contact with Krunal Pandya. It is a matter of relief that RTPCR test has been done for all of them, whose report has come negative. However, even now these 8 players may not get a place in the T20 to be held on Wednesday, because all of them are still in strict isolation.
The players who came in contact with Krunal included Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Yuzvendra Chahal, Prithvi Shaw, Manish Pandey, K. The names of Gautam and Ishaan Kishan have surfaced.
The match will not be postponed!
On Tuesday, the match was postponed to Wednesday, but now the chances of this match being postponed on Wednesday are less visible. This is because the Kovid report of the players of both the teams has come negative. Apart from this, 20 players of Team India, including net bowlers, have arrived on the Sri Lanka tour. Even if 8 players in contact with Krunal are not allowed to play due to strict isolation, there will be 11 players in the team. In such a situation, it is believed that the second T20 match between India and Sri Lanka can be played on Wednesday. However, the final decision on this too will be taken only at 11 am.
