Important meeting of NSA Ajit Doval with Russian counterpart, discussion on Afghanistan issue

Amidst the ongoing stir in Afghanistan, India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval met Russian counterpart Nikolai Petrushev on Wednesday. Along with both, many other officials were also present in the meeting, in which many important topics were discussed.

After the arrival of Taliban in Afghanistan, discussions are being held with all the major partner countries from India. Discussions with Russia are also in this episode. Russian NSA Nikolai on his visit to India with Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Let us tell you that the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and the President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a talk on the phone on 24 August. Then both the leaders talked on the issue of Afghanistan. Russia is in constant contact with the Taliban, the Taliban has also invited Russia in its government formation program.

In such a situation, the arrival of the Taliban in Afghanistan after the withdrawal of America, now it is very important for this region to form its government there. Russia has also been shown standing together with India on other issues including terrorism.

So far, no open policy has been expressed by India regarding the Taliban. India has just adopted the mode of wait and watch. However, there has been an official meeting between the Taliban and India in Doha in which discussions were held regarding the evacuation of Indians.
