Indian Medical Association has decided to hold nationwide protest tomorrow (Friday). This demonstration will be about the violence against doctors. The IMA says that the slogan of this protest will be ‘Save the Saviors’. While holding a press conference on Thursday, the IMA said, “The government has worked on the violence against doctors, but still such incidents are happening in different states.”

The IMA said in the press conference, “The slogan of the protest to be held on June 18 has been ‘Save the Saviors’, through which the harassment of medical professionals and doctors will be asked to stop.” However, due to the corona epidemic. Work will not stop in hospitals. The organization said, “Since the time of epidemic is currently on, we are not closing other hospitals except those where incidents of violence have taken place.”

The head of the Indian Medical Association, Dr. Jayalal, said that 300 cases have been registered for violent incidents against doctors in hospitals, but no one has been convicted. A draft bill on Hospitals and Health Protection Act was also made, but the Home Ministry had refused to pass the bill last time.

He further said, “July 1 is celebrated as Doctor’s Day. By July 1, the government will have to enact a law, otherwise the IMA will go on strike after that and no serious or seriously ill cases will be taken up where doctors have been attacked by people. He told that three days ago, the doctor was shot in Lucknow. He is fighting a battle to save his life.

In the national capital Delhi, the Indian Medical Association will protest outside AIIMS in Delhi at 9 am. After this, there will be a demonstration outside the IMA in West Delhi between two and three in the afternoon. There will be a demonstration in East Delhi between 3-4 o’clock.


IMA has claimed that many big associations including FOGSI, Pediatric Association have supported us by writing letters for tomorrow’s strike. Along with this, IMA once again also claimed that during the second wave of corona, about 750 doctors have lost their lives.
