Ghaziabad Police sent notice to MD of Twitter India, asked to record statement within a week

In the notice, Ghaziabad Police has told Twitter about the FIR registered in Loni that tweets containing communal hatred were made through some people, but Twitter did not take any action / cognizance. At the same time, articles that spread hatred in the country/state, society were promoted, anti-social articles were allowed to go viral continuously.

The dispute between the government and the microblogging social media site Twitter is not taking its name to stop. On the one hand, Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad is continuously giving statements against Twitter, while the Ghaziabad Police has also registered an FIR against Twitter in connection with the viral video of an elderly person.

In the latest development, the Ghaziabad Police has now sent a notice to Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director of Twitter India. While sending this notice, the Ghaziabad Police has asked the MD of Twitter India to come to the Loni police station and get the statement recorded within a week. The copy of this notice is also with us till today. Manish Maheshwari is the Managing Director of Twitter Communication India Pvt Ltd.

Ghaziabad Police has sent this notice to Manish Maheshwari under 160 CrPC. In the notice, Ghaziabad Police has told Twitter about the FIR registered in Loni that tweets containing communal hatred were made through some people, but Twitter did not take any action / cognizance. In the notice, the police has said that “the FIR is registered, so your statement has to be taken, within a week of receiving the letter, get your statement recorded at the Loni police station.”
