Dreaded Naxalite Ramesh Ganjhu alias Azad, who was involved in the killing of thirty policemen, was arrested yesterday on Thursday. There are more than 45 cases registered against him and a reward of 15 lakhs has been announced on him.

Jharkhand Police Spokesperson and Inspector General of Police AV Homkar said that on the basis of a tip-off, police and 198th Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force arrested dreaded Maoist Ramesh Ganjhu alias Azad after taking action in Barwadih forest in Simaria police station area of ​​Chatra. Inspector General of Police AV Homkar said that the arrested Naxalite commander has more than 45 cases registered in Jharkhand and Bihar and the state police had declared a reward of Rs 15 lakh on him. Police have also recovered one and a half lakh rupees in cash from the arrested Naxalites. He told that the arrested Naxalites have killed more than 30 police personnel and many villagers.

In the year 2013, under the leadership of Azad, 14 police personnel were ambushed by Naxalites in Katiya forest of Amuwa Tikar village under Barwadih police station area of ​​Latehar and all weapons were looted. Many villagers were also killed in this incident.

In the year 2014, the same Naxalite had shot dead 16 members of the rival Naxalite gang TPC militants in Chhotki Kaurian village of Vishrampur police station area of ​​Palamu and snatched their weapons. Similarly, in the year 2018, Rajeshwar Paswan, a watchman, was shot dead on charges of being a police informer in Rengniya village of Amas police station in Gaya district of Bihar.

In the year 2013, in the Aurangabad Police Camp of Bihar, Naxalites in three Scorpio vehicles had entered the camp and opened fire. A policeman was killed in this incident. In the incident, the Naxalites looted several police rifles.
