CBI screws on TMC minister in coal scam case, to be presented on September 13

Kolkata: In the coal scam case in West Bengal, the CBI has called TMC General Secretary and state Industries Minister Partho Chattopadhyay. The minister is to appear before the CBI on September 13. Let us inform that in the past, Abhishek Banerjee had appeared before the Enforcement Directorate for questioning in a money laundering case related to the coal scam case.

Abhishek Banerjee had said that I am ready to face the investigation. Also, I will cooperate with the agencies in the investigation. According to the officials, the investigating officer in the case has recorded the statement of Abhishek Banerjee under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.

It is worth noting that in November 2020, CBI and ED had registered a case in the coal loss case. In its FIR, the CBI has alleged theft and scam of crores of rupees related to coal mines in Asansol and surrounding areas. Please tell that Abhishek Banerjee had said that if his involvement in illegal transactions is proved, he himself will be hanged.
