BJP’s ally JDU will contest on 200 seats in UP, attacks on Yogi government

Assembly elections are to be held in UP after a few months. Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United (JDU), which is running the government with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Bihar, has also announced to enter the election battle of UP. JDU leader KC Tyagi while talking to Aaj Tak surrounded the Yogi government of UP and said that the party will field its candidates on 200 seats.

On the question of displeasure of Brahmins in UP, KC Tyagi said that there is restlessness in the society under the Yogi government. Everyone needs an equal share. Now everyone wants rights. He said that if there is no talk of seats with BJP for the UP elections, then we will go with smaller parties. We are ready to contest elections in UP. Tyagi said that farmers and backward classes are not getting justice here. We will field candidates on 200 seats, in which the maximum number of farmers and backward class people will be there. Farmers have formed the government of Yogi and Modi, so they should not be considered as other voters.

In response to a question, KC Tyagi said that we are in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The first priority will be to enter the electoral fray with the BJP, but if there is talk about seats. He said that if there is no talk with BJP regarding seat-sharing, then we can go with anyone. On the question about Samajwadi Party, Tyagi said that we have a separate relationship with Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) but we cannot go with the party. It is the opposition party. There is no place for AIMIM in JDU’s framework.

Not contesting 2017 election was a mistake
Senior JDU leader KC Tyagi said that after the retirement of VP Singh, the Janata Dal broke up and a part went to the SP. Now those people feel neglected here. JDU is ready to enter UP with renewed vigor. He called it a mistake not to field a candidate in the 2017 assembly elections. The JDU leader said that we have taken a lot of carelessness in the era of Corona, for which the villages bear the brunt. It is the fault of both the central and state governments.

Farmers will come down with backwards
JDU leader KC Tyagi said that Nitish Kumar has worked on the basis of the slogan of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas. We formed the Most Backward Classes Commission and worked for them. In UP elections also, we will take farmers and backwards along with us on this line. Regarding Mayawati, he said that he is not a claimant. We will not go with SP-BSP. Tyagi said about the comparison of the Emergency era with now that the situation then was worse than now. On the question regarding the expansion of the Union Cabinet, he said that JDU has not made any demand nor has the PM asked us anything yet. Nitish Kumar will take the final decision regarding this.

Told Chirag Paswan ambitious
Senior JDU leader KC Tyagi said that we have an old relationship with Ram Vilas Paswan but Chirag lacks experience. Chirag is more ambitious due to which his party and family break up. He said that Tejashwi benefited because of the lamp.
