There are assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh next year, so the Bharatiya Janata Party is eyeing to retain power in the state. In view of this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given an important instruction keeping an eye on the OBC vote bank. PM Modi has asked all the ministries that all disputes regarding OBC reserved seats under All India Quota (AIQ) in medical seats should be resolved soon.
People associated with the Ministry of Law and Social Justice were also involved in the review meeting with the Union Ministry of Education and Health Ministry on Monday. In which Prime Minister Narendra Modi also asked to work for the reservation of economically weaker (EWS) people.
According to a senior official, “At present, about 15 percent UG, 50 percent PG medical seats are managed by the state governments under AIQ. In this, seats are reserved for SC, ST, but not for OBC.
OBC groups have been demanding seats for themselves in this for a long time, this matter has even gone to the court. In such a situation, now the Prime Minister has asked the ministries that these matters should be resolved in the shortest possible time and efforts should be made to reach an out-of-court consensus.
Center eye on EWS too!
Not only this, the Prime Minister’s effort is also to get reservation for the economically weaker people. This issue has been an important issue for BJP, a large section is of BJP supporters in it. This is the reason why the Prime Minister is paying special attention to this too. In this meeting, the Prime Minister asked the Health Ministry to reserve medical seats for the financially weak people.
Significantly, there is an important dispute going on in Tamil Nadu regarding medical seats. Where the court has been moved by DMK. DMK has accused the Union Health Ministry of not obeying the order of the court. The court has now sought some time from the Center to prepare its roadmap.
It is clear that if the Modi government is successful in resolving this issue without any dispute and other parties agree in it. So before the next year’s UP elections, a big message can be sent. OBC voters have a big impact in UP, which will have an impact on the election results. The OBC community was also given importance in the recent changes in the Modi cabinet.
