Allahabad High Court said – Central government should declare cow as national animal, cow protection is a fundamental right of Hindus

Prayagraj: The Allahabad High Court suggested to the Central Government that the cow should be declared as the national animal. Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav has given this order while rejecting the bail application of Javed of Sambhal. Government advocate SK Pal & AGA Mithilesh Kumar protested on the application. The court further said that the cow should be declared the national animal and cow protection should be given a fundamental right of the Hindus.

It is alleged that he stole Khilendra Singh’s cow along with his companions and took it to the forest. There Khilendra’s cow along with other cows was killed and seen in torchlight collecting its meat. The complainant identified it by the severed head of the cow. The accused fled from the spot leaving the motorcycle. Later he was arrested by the police. The petitioner is in jail since March 8, 2021.

The Allahabad High Court, while rejecting the bail application, said that this is not the first offense of the applicant, even before that he has committed cow slaughter, due to which the harmony of the society has been disturbed and when released on bail, he will again do the same thing, which will create a difference in the society. The harmony will deteriorate. This bail application of the applicant is baseless and deserves to be rejected.

The court said that it is the duty of every countryman to respect and protect the cow. Earlier, the Rajasthan High Court has also suggested to declare the cow as the national animal. The Rajasthan High Court had directed the state government to take necessary steps to declare the cow as the national animal in coordination with the central government.
