Indian Air Force did an air show after 14 years in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Sukhoi MiG-21 fighter jets of the Air Force displayed acrobatics in the sky over the famous Dal Lake. The purpose of this air show held on Saturday morning was to inspire the youth of Kashmir to join the Indian Army. The audience was very happy after watching the air show.
A large number of people gathered on the banks of Dal Lake to enjoy this air show of the Air Force. School and college students were also involved in this. People applauded as soon as the fighter jets were seen flying in the sky over the lake. People present there, including NCC cadets, tried to click pictures on their mobile phones.
The Defense Ministry has issued a statement saying that there was a presence of about ten thousand people to watch this show, out of which five thousand children of the school are also included. The program was named ‘Give Wings to Your Dreams’ and was aimed at motivating the youth of Kashmir, so that they remain committed to ‘nation building’.
The ministry further said in its statement, “As part of the ongoing celebrations on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Air Force Station, Srinagar organized an air show at Dal Lake.” The show not only enthralled the audience. Rather, it was also considered a symbol of change in Kashmir.
Apart from the planes, there were also Akash Ganga paratroopers and motorized gliders, who enthralled the audience. The show concluded with a Chinook heavy lift helicopter over the waters of Dal Lake. Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir attended the program as the Chief Guest. The Defense Ministry said that the air show was specially prepared for the younger audience.
The show started with Para Motor and Para Hang Glider Display. After this, the MiG-21 Bison flew in the triangular 3 aircraft formation. Air Force’s skydiving team Galaxy enthralled the audience by jumping from the Mi 17 helicopter over Dal Lake. After this Sukhoi 30 MKI showed acrobatics.
