75th Independence Day today, PM Modi will hoist the tricolor, for the first time there will be flower showers on the Red Fort

The country is celebrating the 75th anniversary of Independence Day today. This year Independence Day is being celebrated as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. The whole country is full of patriotism. Various programs have been organized by ministries, state governments, military forces and general public at different places across the country.

PM Narendra Modi will lead the celebration of the 75th Independence Day anniversary of the country. This morning PM Modi will unfurl the tricolor from the Red Fort and address the nation. Let us tell you that Prime Minister Modi started ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ from Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, Gujarat in March 2021 to celebrate 75 years of India’s independence. The festival will continue till August 15, 2023.

Today is the schedule of Prime Minister Narendra Modi:

7:05 am – Prime Minister Modi,
Flowers will be offered at Raj Ghat, the tomb of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
7:10 pm – Prime Minister will leave for Red Fort from Rajghat.
7:20 pm – There will be a guard of honor at the Red Fort.
7:30 pm – The Prime Minister will unfurl the tricolor flag of the country on the ramparts of the Red Fort.

After the national anthem, there will be a speech of the Prime Minister.

Defense Minister to receive PM

When PM Modi reaches the Red Fort, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt and Security Secretary Dr. Ajay Kumar will be present to receive him. During this, the Defense Secretary, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Delhi Region, Lt Gen Vijay Kumar Mishra will introduce the Prime Minister. After this, the GOC Delhi area will take Narendra Modi to the saluting base, where the Joint Inter-Services and Delhi Police Guard will salute the Prime Minister. After this, the Prime Minister will inspect the guard of honour.

The Guard of Honor contingent for the PM will consist of one officer and 20 men each from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police. The Indian Navy is this year’s coordinating service. The Guard of Honor will be commanded by Commander Piyush Gaur. The Naval contingent in PM Guard will be commanded by Lieutenant Commander Sune Phogat, the Army contingent will be commanded by Major Vikas Sangwan and the Air Force contingent will be commanded by Squadron Leader A Berwal. The Delhi Police team will be commanded by Additional DCP (West District) Subodh Kumar Goswami.

After inspecting the guard of honour, PM Modi will leave for the Red Fort ramparts where he will be received by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defense Ajay Bhatt, Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Army Staff General MM Naravane, Chief of the Navy Admiral Karambir Singh. And the Chief of Air Staff will be Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria. The GOC Delhi region will bring the Prime Minister to the ramparts stage to unfurl the national flag.

PM Modi will give national salute

After hoisting the tricolor, PM Modi will give a national salute. A 16-member navy band will play the national anthem during the flag hoisting and the national salute. The band will be conducted by MCPO Vincent Johnson. Lieutenant Commander P Priyambada Sahu will assist the Prime Minister in unfurling the national flag. This will be accompanied by a 21-gun salute by the brave soldiers of the elite 2233 Field Battery (Formal).

Many other players including Neeraj Chopra will be present

Neeraj Chopra, who won India’s first gold medal in the Olympic javelin throw event, is among 32 players who have been invited to the event. About 240 Olympians, support staff and officials from SAI and sports federations have been invited to attend the event.

Flower rain will happen for the first time

On Sunday, as soon as PM Modi will unfurl the tricolor, flowers will be showered at the venue by two Mi-17 1V helicopters of the Air Force in Amrit Formation. One helicopter will be flown by Wing Commander Baldev Singh Bisht while the other helicopter will be commanded by Wing Commander Nikhil Mehrotra. This will be the first time that there will be flower showers after hoisting the tricolor. After the flower shower, the PM will address the nation. The National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets will sing the national anthem at the conclusion of the Prime Minister’s speech. Five hundred NCC cadets (Army, Navy and Airforce) from different schools will be part of this program.

Tight security arrangements

Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana said that in view of the celebrations on Independence Day, the same preparations have been made regarding security in Delhi as last year, but this time the security threat is of a different kind. Keeping that in mind, this time the vigil has been increased. All kinds of arrangements have been made keeping in view the problems we are facing. He said that in view of the drone attack and alert, counter drone technology has been deployed so that if anyone tries to disturb or attack the program through drone, then it can be countered. Counter drone technology has been installed in sensitive areas and they will be used accordingly.

Change in traffic

Traffic advisory has been issued by Ghaziabad Police. It has been told that EDM Mall and Maharajpur Border/Anand Vihar have been closed by Delhi Police. Those who want to go to Delhi should go to Delhi via Surya Nagar, Seemapuri and Tulsi Niketan.
